A Very Fancy Valentine!

Every year we struggle to think of the perfect Valentines treat for the kids classses. We don't want something too sugary or full of artificial flavours or colours. At the same time, sending a super healthy snack like fruits or veggies is likely a waste when the kids have so much junk food available!

This year all three kids are giving packages of goldfish crackers with really cute tags attached. That way if their classmates would rather eat the chocolate and candies first they can take these home for later!

Mattea also needs Valentines for her Sparks troop. We've been sending homemade hair clips instead of food for each major holiday so far. We decided to stick with this for Valentines and create a "fancy" valentine to clip them to.

Voila! Our oh-so-fancy Fancy Nancy Valentines. Mattea wrote "Lave Mattea" on the back of each one (we told her it should be an O but I don't think she believed us!).

I bought the ribbon at Michael's and the clips at Sally Beauty Supply. The valentine is printed on regular computer paper (a thicker card stock probably would have worked better but this is what we had!). It cost me less than 50 cents per girl!

Here's the card I created in case anyone else wants to do the same. Even if you don't make hair clips I'm sure you could buy some for a reasonable price to give! Enjoy and have an extremely Fancy Valentines Day!
